Tryst — AI Roleplay Stories

Playing stories

You can browse and play stories without an account. Your conversations are stored only on your device — we do not keep copies of them on our servers, and we never use them to train AI models. To generate each character reply, your recent messages in that story are transmitted over HTTPS to our backend and processed transiently by our AI provider solely to produce the response.

Optional account (Sign in with Apple)

Signing in is required only for creating stories and for likes, saves, reports, and blocks. When you sign in with Apple we receive and store your Apple account identifier and, once at first sign-in, the name Apple shares. We never see your email password or Apple credentials.

Creating and publishing stories

When you create a story, the pitch and draft text you write are sent to an AI service to generate the draft, the cover image, and an automated content-moderation review. Published stories — including their text and cover image — are stored on our servers and are publicly visible in the app, attributed to your display name.

Engagement data

If you are signed in, we store your likes, saves, reports, blocked authors, and per-story play counts so they sync with your account.

Story language

If you choose a custom story language, the sample phrase you type is sent to our backend once to detect the language. It is used only for detection.

Subscriptions

Membership subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never receive your payment details. After a purchase, Apple provides our server with a signed transaction receipt, which we verify to activate your membership.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time inside the app (Me → Delete account). This permanently removes your profile, engagement data, and all stories you have published, including their images. Conversations live only on your device — deleting the app removes them.

Insider China

Insider China requires no account and collects no personal information. Search queries you type are sent to a third-party API (Coze, operated by ByteDance at api.coze.cn) solely to retrieve public posts; ByteDance's handling is described in their privacy policy. Translation happens on-device using Apple's Translation framework, and your search history is stored only on your device. We do not log, store, sell, or share your queries.

Website

The website uses Vercel Analytics to count page views in aggregate; it does not use advertising cookies or track you across sites. Course progress and theme preferences are stored in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.

• We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
• We do not use your conversations or content to train AI models.
• Our apps contain no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• We share data with service providers only as needed to run the products (cloud hosting, AI inference, Apple's App Store services), under their own confidentiality obligations.

Children

Children's privacy

Our apps and website are not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Tryst is intended for mature audiences as indicated by its App Store age rating.
